The inaugural Santa Barbara County Fair Wine Competition was held in May of 2002 to celebrate the quality and diversity of wines made in our very special and unique wine region. In retrospect, we wonder why this hadn’t happened earlier! The County Fair had held wine competitions for local home vintners for years, but there had not been a competition that focused on commercial wines made in Santa Barbara County. Our wines have been entered in respected competitions across the state, country and indeed, the world and have been awarded the highest medals and accolades. So, why were we so quiet about this? We’re extremely proud of our wines, our growers, our winemakers and our community, and with this in mind…we’re here to showcase the best of Santa Barbara County wine!

In this spirit, the Santa Barbara County Fair again invites local vintners, winemakers and growers to present their wines to a panel of distinguished wine judges in the 6th annual Wine Competition. This year, the competition will be held on June 11th.
